Rules & Regulations
These rules apply to all students, guardians and visitors at Robin's Private Music Centre and are designed to keep lessons structured, safe and productive for everyone.
1. Punctuality
Students should arrive at least 5 minutes before their scheduled lesson time. Lessons will end at the scheduled time regardless of a late start, to respect the schedule of following students.
2. Practice Expectations
Consistent practice between lessons is expected and is essential to progress. Instructors may adjust a student's programme pace where regular practice is not maintained.
3. Classroom Conduct
Students are expected to listen attentively, follow instructor guidance, and treat shared spaces, instruments and equipment with care. Disruptive behaviour that affects other students' learning will not be tolerated.
4. Guardian Access
Guardians of students under 18 are welcome to wait on the premises during lessons. For scheduling or billing questions, guardians should contact the Centre directly rather than the instructor during lesson time.
5. Dress Code for Performances
For concerts, showcases and formal performances, students are expected to follow the dress code communicated by the Centre ahead of the event.
6. Examination Entry
Entry into ABRSM examinations is at the instructor's recommendation, based on the student's readiness. Examination fees are separate from monthly programme fees and are payable when a student is entered.
7. Use of Centre Instruments
Instruments and equipment belonging to the Centre may only be used under instructor supervision unless otherwise agreed. Personal instruments brought to the Centre remain the responsibility of the student or guardian.
8. Health & Illness
Students who are unwell, particularly with a contagious illness, should not attend in-person lessons. Please notify the Centre as early as possible so a lesson can be rescheduled where possible.
9. Communication
Official communication from the Centre — scheduling changes, fee notices, event information — will be sent to the email address or phone number provided on the application form. Please keep these details up to date.
10. Changes to These Rules
Robin's Private Music Centre may update these Rules & Regulations from time to time to reflect changes in how the Centre operates. The current version will always be available on this page.
